Jamunkhadi Wetlands
The Jamunkhadi Wetlands are a wetland conservation initiative in eastern Nepal located in the Kankai Municipality of Jhapa District.
It was decided to construct it inside the community forest as a tourist destination in Wards 2 and 5 of Surunga VDC). It covers an area of about 10 hectares in a 25-hectare forest reserve and is located about one kilometer from the East-West Highway.
Every day, around 5,000 domestic visitors visit Jamunkhadi. The Jamunkhadi local people and those living in the surrounding area utilize this wetland as a picnic site. The wetland is home to a variety of animals, including deer, pangolins, leopards, and porcupines. A peaceful boat ride on Lake Jamunkhadi will provide you with an insight into the natural ecosystem of the fauna.

Satakshi Dham is commonly referred to as the "second Janakpurdham." This sacred location comes alive during the Hindu holiday of Bala Chaturdashi, when people pay tribute to family members and relatives who died the previous year.
